Trolley Tour

Report from Mark

The Southern Cruisers reached Wilmington today. Bernan, Up tha Crick and Water Music joined Maturity Rules at the Wilmington city docks. Located at the foot of Market Street, the city docks offer a limited number of cruisers access to the many restaurants of downtown Wilmington with a view of the battleship North Carolina, the river boat Henrietta III, and the Wilmington lift bridge. Maturity Rules will start back to Fairfield Harbour tomorrow. The remaining three boats will have a day to explore Wilmington.

Report from Bernie -

May 31, cool night and sunny pleasant day,--we fought a 2 knot current all the way up the Cape Fear River to Wilmington but with the wind behind us the seas were not a problem.   After docking we did see a few small logs go by.   We quickly found Kilwins ice cream shop that Bill and Donna recommended and it was sinfully good!!  We gathered for a splash which lasted 2 hours.  The forecast was strong thunderstorms but we only had lightning and no rain. Barbara corrected the list the differences in the SNOW JOB pictures, which ended in a 3 way tie between the Teuberts, Terrills and the Wests.

Report from Karen - Casper’s Marina – Swansboro

A good start and easy trip ended up with our third visit at Casper’s finally living up to its reputation.  The winds were up to 2-25 MPH from the southwest making docking a lot of fun.  Five lines later we are tied on the inside of the dock hoping that the winds calm down a little so we can get some sleep.  To make sure we enjoyed our stay, we headed down the street for an ice cream.  No grilling as planned tonight.  Looks like it is time to warm up the chili.  Hopefully tomorrow will find us in Upper Broad Creek.
