Charleston City Marina

Report from Ruth  (from Charleston)

We arrived in Charleston yesterday.  That is 5 out 6 boats did.  Water Music had mechanical problems and will remain at Grand Dunes resort in Myrtle Beach until joining the fleet on the homeward legs.  All southbound boats enjoyed the sightings of dolphins and alligators.  We are enjoying excellent sunny weather with cool nights.

We enjoyed a 3 1/2 hour tour of Wilmington by one of the town's
true characters... Bob Jenkins.
Report from Janet  (reporting from Wilmington)

After the tour, we attended a 3 church choir concert at St. Paul's Lutheran Church  (our own version of Spoleto).  We sat in the back row so we could make a quick getaway.    Later we enjoyed dinner at The Pilot House.

The American Eagle Cruise Ship comes into Wilmington Port today.  The Mid-Atlantic Island 7 Day cruise from Charleston to Baltimore costs between $2700 - $4000 and this doesn't include the shore excursions.  Stops includes Myrtle Beach, Oriental, Morehead City, Norfolk, Charleston.   Makes our trip seem very inexpensive; gas and all.

Extended Report from Bernie and Nancy -  May 25 through May 30

The Teuberts returned from Indianapolis on May 25 to Barefoot Landing and found  Water Music at Barefoot due to minor engine problems ( they did not get to Charleston). Teuberts now have 2 grandkids graduated and 2 more to graduate.  Indianapolis was cold 45 at night and 55 days with rain!!!!!!!

The Teuberts used the 26th to recover from our graduation trip ( laundry, rest etc ) and had  a great day with the Wests. We walked over the Barefoot Bridge to go shopping and have lunch at Joes Crab House.

On the 27th, cool night with blue sunny day,  the Bernan and Water Music traveled to Grand Dunes and went to the Grand Dunes beach for a long  walk and had our own splash.  Upon check in, Grand Dunes presented us with a large bottle on wine and a beer cooler with lots of goodies.  The Marina also provided a continental breakfast each morning.

On the 28th, cool night and blue pleasant day, 5 boats  - Up tha creek, Tara, Maturity Rules, Cameo, and AguaBase arrived safely from Charleston. They had great time at Charleston with great stories. That evening, our group took advantage of a 2 for 1 entree offer at the Grand Dunes Hotel's Water Scapes restaurant. It was a magnificent evening with great foods and elegant class service and presentation.

On the 29th, cool night,- the Meyers and Teuberts played  golf at Palmetto course.  The first 2 holes in the rain then ok for the rest of the play. When we combined the Teuberts vs the Meyers scores==it was tie.  On the 29th the Martins left the group to head home via Southport, Mile Hammock, Morehead city (to meet with prospective buyer for the Cameo)  and then home.  That evening's dominoes game was won by Bernie again.

On the 30th, cool night and sunny blue sky day,--the  Meyers left the group to head home via Wrightsville Beach, Caspers to prepare to travel to a wedding up north. Maturity Rules left Grand Dunes for Wilmington and arrived safely and went to a outdoor concert and located 5 ice cream shops for the rest of the group to arrive on the 31th.
