Harbour Village Marina

The morning started off for many with breakfast as Yana's.

Yana's is such a cool place with a lot of Elvis and Marilyn Monroe memorabilia.   The fritters are the best!

Lucky for us there was no live fire.

The smaller boats can usually fit
under bridge, but because of some working
being done on the bridge, the clearance is only 9'.

Look what we see: Blue Chip... but not THE Blue Chip.

Email we received on May 16th

Thanks for exposing the poor attempt at Blue Chip identity theft. THE Blue Chip is sitting in her FFH slip being rained on at this time. We are waiting for a little better weather to start heading north. From the latest forecast it looks like Monday is our day, but have you ever noticed that the extended forecasts are always better than reality.

Hope the weather breaks soon for your cruise. Will be checking the cruise site as we go. For now, stay dry and safe, and spend some time anticipating what folks are going to do as they see Lockwood Folly coming into sight.

This is the coolest house, sits out on a point of land
along the Intercoastal Waterway.  It even  has its own lighthouse.

WE ARRIVE AT HARBOUR VILLAGE MARINA.

This marina's dockmaster does not have a marine radio
so they requested we call them when we arrived so we could get our slip assignments.
Snowdrift was the first to arrive and Ken used his handheld radio to relay information to the other cruisers.
This worked out a lot better than using cell phones.

The Captains are discussing
tomorrow's weather.

The weather tomorrow is not favorable for being out on the water.   It was decided by the group to stay at Harbour Village Marina for one more night and
travel directly to Bald Head Island Saturday morning.   We will stay two nights at Bald Head and skip going to South Harbour Village in Southport.   We will go directly to Myrtle Beach.  That's the plan anyway.

A potluck dinner was enjoyed by all.

Thanks to Karen and Walt for organizing a Nautical Trivia contest.   We broke up into 6
3 person teams.   The winning team was Bernie, Jim and Pat.
