Dear John:

Today, our run was a scenic 54 statue miles to the Isle of Hope Marina in South Savannah, Ga.  Most of the morning, as we cruised the ICW, we listened on Channel 16 to a Coast Guard rescue operation of a sinking 26ft boat with 4 adults aboard 10 miles off the coast of Georgia's Hilton Head Island.  The boat "Miss Match" was sinking fast and CG Helicopters and several boats successfully rescued the boat just as it was going under!  By the way, John we wonder if there will be CG stations along your St. John's River?

Weather was warm again but the breeze picked up and generated 1 ft waves on the Calibogue Sound as we crossed. John, today we had several sightings of Dolphins and it reminded us to ask you to display your Manatees while we are on your river.  Question now that we are in Georgia, are there Manatees this far north?

Our original cruise plan for tomorrow, Mother's Day, was to be at anchor fighting tide changes etc.. The Cruise Leaders came to their senses and decided that we it would be better to celebrate Mother's Day at a local Restaurant tonight and spend tomorrow at this great marina relaxing (etc, etc,).
Soon we will be in your State.

Sincerely,
Your Northern Yankee fans
