Dear John:

Can you say weekend boaters? I am talking about bathing suit clad ladies and bare chested men acting like Yahoos. They are in small boats, pontoons and muscle boats all over the ICW. It started with the fishermen in their hunter/gather “sport” outfits heading out in 20+ boats powered by two or three 250 engines. Forget the wake, they have distance to cover while getting to the fishing grounds before the next guy. By ten in the morning, the overcrowded boats with people actually began letting 6-7 year old kids surf boarding behind their boats. Add some heat and humidity – you have our trip to Myrtle Beach. The Marina at Grand Dunes was a welcome site for everyone.

A wonderful Kentucky Derby party planned by Donna Getkin followed the evening Splash. Bets were placed for
Win-Place-Show with imaginary money up to $100. Donna was the big winner followed by the Teuberts. Donna paid
off the winners with bite size candy bars.

Sunday and Monday were filled with golf, eating out, dominoes, a pool party, movie night with Avatar showing aboard Piccolo and getting many small boat problems solved for the trip on Tuesday morning to Georgetown. The forecast is
for rain and 1 foot waves.
