The NOS MapFinder Web site no longer provides preview raster images of nautical charts, as they could not regularly be maintained and updated. Instead, refer to the Coastal Map Series found at the Office of Coast Survey Home Page. The Coastal Map Series is not suitable for navigational use; however, these digital, geo-referenced images can be used for planning and other mapping purposes, such as in geographic information systems (GIS).

Information on nautical charts specifically for navigation, lists of Authorized Chart Agents, and other programs and products from the Coast Survey can also be found at the NOS Office of Coast Survey Home Page.

Historical maps and charts are also now being served through the Office of Coast Survey.
